Alternative School Programs for Senior High School Students
The BUSY School Difference
We focus on taking the time to provide individual support for students who would otherwise struggle in the mainstream education system. Designed to provide more suitable study options for senior high school students, our alternative high school continues to help students thrive in a more proactive environment. We offer:
- Ongoing career support through alternative school programs
- Supportive and understanding teachers and staff
- Individualised Career and Pathways Plans
- Assisted vocational or tertiary education pathways
- Work readiness skills and preparation
- Industry introduction, visits and work experience
- Individualised timetables to suit each student
- Smaller class sizes and teaching environment
- No fees and we supply uniform items and textbooks

The BUSY School offers an alternative education for senior high school students in Years 11 and 12 (and Year 13 in 2026), who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging with traditional schooling. The reasons for disengaging are numerous and varied, including mental health struggles, bullying and other issues that are impacting the student’s ability to keep up with school curriculum.

The BUSY School, part of not-for-profit organisation The BUSY Group, is excited to announce the approval of a charter school in Auckland, set to open in early February 2025. The new campus will provide young people with an alternative to traditional schooling, re-engaging students who have struggled in mainstream settings.
